Remember this?

Photography is an interesting hobby for me.  I enjoy documenting the things we do, but I don't care to take pictures of things for art's sake.  I want the pictures of the people and places I love to be beautiful, but I'm not drawn to take my camera out on a nice day just to take pictures.  Actually-that sounds nice, so maybe I would do that if I had more time.  I like to edit photos and make them look as best I can.  Some day I would like to get a DSLR, but in the mean time, I found a dinosaur at a garage sale.  I found an old Olympus SLR.  I thought it might be fun to learn on, if I could find film.  I was happy to find that it is still sold and processed.  Tony found the manual online for me and I've tinkered around with it a little bit.  I finished my first roll of film yesterday afternoon and am going to take it in today to see what turns out.  I was surprised at just how foreign the idea of film has become.  I can only take 24 pictures?  I can't see what is on them until I get the disc back?  I can not wait.

I think film photography is a true art. Anyone can take a semi-decent photo with a digital camera and edit it with software, but film photography takes a good eye, knowledge of lighting and timing. I hope you can find a way to share some of your talents here!

Yeah, I just took them in, their machines were down due to the storm so I probably won't get them until Monday, but I'm having them processed onto a disc so I'll be able to put them up here.
