Cookie Day 2010

Cookie Day 2010 was a screaming success.  I made the same gingerbread men as last year as well as the pretzel, rolo, pecan thingies (does anyone know what those are called?) and the peppermint meringues.  As great as they are, they pale in comparison to the Baklava and Hungarian Pinwheel cookies made by my beautiful and talented sister.  Mmm...I'm glad Christmas is only once a year or I'd weigh 300 pounds for sure.

Pretzel-rolo-pecan thingies:
I used regular mini pretzels but most people use the waffles.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Lay down a single layer of pretzels and top with rolos.  Bake for 5 minutes on 175, watch closely-you don't want them to get soupy, keep their shape but glossy.  Then smoosh down into a plate of chopped pecans.  You could use a whole pecan but the chopped were cheaper at my grocery store.  Enjoy!
