Chinese take out, take two.

The other week I made Sweet and Sour chicken and it was awesome.  The whole time I was eating it though-I was thinking about how complimentary this recipe would be with my favorite Orange Chicken.  My Orange Chicken recipe has perfect flavor but comes out a bit soggy, so I knew the cooking method from the Sweet and Sour would be a great improvement.  I used this recipe and made the marinade.  I made it in the morning and refrigerated it all day. Then, after the chicken was in the baking pan (per the Sweet and Sour recipe) I added 2T Water/3T Cornstarch mix to the marinade and poured about 3/4 of it over the chicken and baked.  It was divine, even better than the Sweet and Sour.  Next, I'm going to try General Tso's.  Mmmm.

Now, lest you think all I do is cook and eat, I'd like to tell you about my other interest, my daughter.  She came home from preschool today having written her name on her paper.  After worrying about being a tiger mom during a particularly frustrating writing session, I am amazed.  I encourage-she learns.  Motherhood is an amazing thing.  Maybe next we'll work on putting the letters in order. :)

Anna, have you considered becoming a chef of studying culinary arts at schoolcraft? Seriously. You are so gifted!

On a not so serious note, maybe you and Tony should open your own Chinese restaurant. Then again, "Onofrio's place" doesn't quite have the chinese ring to it.
