Blogger's Block

We've done stuff, I have stuff to say...I just can't seem to get it out in words. Here goes: General Conference weekend was marvelous.  The speakers were wonderful, I felt uplifted and inspired and am happily trying to change some things for the better.  It was one of the best Conferences ever and I was so glad we had done some prep early in the week to be able to enjoy it all.  I did make some good Cinnamon Sugar pull-apart bread Saturday morning.

I have cooked some yummy things...both PW's recipes...the malted chocolate chip cookies...I made them twice, they rock.  I can't decide if I like them better than Alton Brown's, "The Chewy," or the simplicity of The Cookie Baker's recipe but they are super good.  Tony loves them.  I also made her sour cream noodle bake...I'm making it again tonight.  Tony said it's his new favorite casserole.  Oh-I made her meatballs too...they were like little tiny meatloaves.

We had a shower for Alison which was really fun.  We played the purse scavenger hunt-which was awesome...there was a competition between a few people who had amazingly well stocked purses.  Alison's Granny was the winner, I would call out the item and she would say, "Yes, got it!" and pull whatever it was out of her bag, it was like the kids watching Mary Poppins pull the lamp out of her carpet bag.  We also did the toilet paper wedding dress game, and had some beautiful brides.

I thought this gift was such a great idea; her Ganny gave her a cookie jar filled with some of her and Coco's favorite cookies.  I made her a recipe book with some of my favorite recipes, it turned out great.
The wedding is in less than two weeks, I am so excited!

Lucy and I have been working on more "school" stuff at home.  Some very elementary basics.  It's fun to watch her skills develop and see where she excels and where she needs more help.  Last week for preschool we went to the library.  Reading is probably my favorite hobby and I love our library.  They opened the library early for us so we could stick to our regular schedule.  They put on a little story time and gave the kids a little tour.  I was impressed with the caliber of their staff, my expectations were certainly exceeded.

This afternoon I have an ultrasound to check on Baby Brother.  He had some extra fluid in one kidney the last time and they want to keep an eye on it.  They said it could be nothing and resolve itself...I'm hoping for that. :)

So that's what's been up with us.

You're amazing. That's what I thought when I read this post. I know you think it was just an ordinary update. But I say it again, AMAZING. Love you.

Christian had extra fluid in his kidneys at his first u/s. My dr. said it almost always resolves itself either before birth or within the first year of life. His was fine by the next time I had an u/s and I hope the same for you. Even though it is a small concern, any concern during pregnancy is multiplied. Let us know how it goes!

That picture of Cinnamon bread is beautiful. And yes, the library was great. I can't believe I have lived here for 3 years without visiting that library. Now we are leaving. Serves me right, I know.
