Ham & Cheese Waffles

I interrupt the scheduled posting about our Utah trip to bring you this delicious recipe.   I couldn't wait to share this with you all.  I made this tonight.  I made the waffles from this recipe, I didn't know that the trick to waffles is leaving the egg whites till the end. I poured just enough batter to cover the waffle iron, sprinkled with chopped ham and shredded cheese, and then flipped and cooked for just over three minutes.  The cheese settled to the bottom and made a cheesy crust...add butter and real maple syrup.  This dinner was divine.  Tony actually said, "if I were on death row, this would be my last breakfast."  He loves breakfast foods so I know he means it.  Yum.  The waffle recipe I used made 6, 7" waffles and the iron needs to be pretty hot.
