Snow and slow, that is the tempo...

As you know, we've been experiencing the crazy, freezing, cold snow around here lately.
My kids have been begging to play in it.  I have been avoiding it.
Grammi was kind enough to play outside with them.  She even made them a little hill/bump for them to sled down.  It looks treacherous but wasn't as bad as I thought.

After our snow ventures we headed to see family for the crock-pot party.

So much good food.
I made pulled pork and cilantro slaw, and a CAKE!
It was so good and so easy, you just make a box of cake mix (per package instructions), a small box of instant pudding (per package instructions), mix and slow-cook on high for two and a half hours.  Serve with ice cream.  It was delicious.
Stay warm!

This is the cutest thing you're going to see today...

Last week, Lu was the star!

Each day she had a different item to share, her favorite book, a special toy, etc.
On Friday they practiced writing friendly letters and her teacher made a book out of them for her.
Reading them was the highlight of my week.  They know her well, a lot of them said she is rilly silly.

Over Break

Library, making ornaments, playing with Christmas gifts, spyrograph.
Lots of fun and relaxing inside, staying warm.   How many days until Summer break?

Snow Days!

The snow days after break were nice at first and then a little crazy because it was so so cold.
We couldn't get out to play in it because I was not willing to go out in the subzero temperatures.
It was nice to sleep in for a few days but I was glad to get back to real life after all that vacation.

This was our deck out back.
