Literacy

We are a reading family.  I love that we all enjoy books.  I especially love finding Lucy asleep at night with her little light on and a book open on her bed.  Currently she has been enjoying the Just Grace books. This week is literacy week at school.  One Tuesday night they had an author from Michigan speak, Maria Dismondy.  I really enjoyed her remarks, she had such a fun energy and wonderful message.  It was a busy night running from school to piano to Ikea for dinner back to school.  What a fun and nutty day.  Noah was a wild man at school.
Kindergarten is going to be such a ball for him.

My Street Urchins, geez, get a brush.

I think my backyard wants this.

The talented Maria Dismondy

For "Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character," day, Lucy chose Pete the Cat.  I think it's pretty cute that she chooses by costume, not her favorite character.  I think she'd rather have been Judy Moody or Clementine but she didn't think they lended themselves to very creative costumes since they just look like people.  So, Pete the cat, again.

I did eventually brush their hair.  I keep threatening to shave it all off.
